About Us
Our Story
Old Town Fish & Chips was born from our love of the sea. As avid sailors we love nothing more than being in, on and under the sea at home on the Moray Firth, on the wild West coast or further afield, like last year when we sailed to Norway. A perfect day for us involves lots of sea air, fishing with friends and cooking our catch on a beach BBQ.
At sea, doing things by halves usually doesn’t end well. We try and apply that philosophy to everything we do. That’s why everything on our menu (apart from the sausages, haggis and puddings) is made in house by our talented team and is cooked to order. This means things may take a bit longer than you might be used to. We appreciate your patience and will provide you with a wireless buzzer to let you know when your orders ready. So why not explore the area or perhaps order your dessert a couple of doors down at Miele’s Gelateria while you wait.

With over twenty years of hospitality experience under our belts and seawater practically running through our veins, opening a fish and chip shop in our hometown of Inverness felt like a no-brainer. We have a soft spot for the Old Town and couldn’t think of a better place to launch our chippy concept than in this most historic and beautiful part of the city.
Sometimes nothing but the full fish supper with chips and homemade mushy peas will do. Sometimes however, we believe a lighter more adventurous approach is just as rewarding. That’s why we’ve expanded our menu to include fresh, vibrant accompaniments such as Cruciferous Croft Lemon & Dill Kraut - an award-winning crunchy sauerkraut handmade by Barbara on her croft near Lochinver. We also offer ‘Wee Tastes’ of most of our mains, our favourite is Calamari, which we make from fresh whole squid.
Fancy trying a little of everything? We offer a Fisherman’s Feast with a selection of our menu highlights. Not that hungry? How about a ‘Wee Taste’ of any of our main dishes - a smaller portion, with or without chips?
Whatever your tastes, you’ll find a wide and exciting menu, freshly cooked to order. We’d love to see you soon.

Our Little Corner of the Sea
Our love of the sea extends beyond the food we serve. Tucked away inside the shop is a small dine-in area with seating for up to 12 guests, available on a first come, first served basis.
Designed to reflect the coastal landscapes and maritime heritage that inspire our menu, the space combines beautiful hand-painted Petra Palumbo tiles with rustic nautical touches to create a warm and welcoming setting. It's a simple, characterful space that celebrates our connection to the sea and the fishing communities that make Scotland's seafood so special.
Whether you're joining us for a fish supper, a Fisherman's Feast or just a wee taste of something different, we hope you'll feel right at home.
Crafted with care, served with love
